Every year, I introduce Zooburst as a way to motivate students to share and publish their stories. They love making their stories come alive by adding pictures on a page in an open-book. Zooburst is simple to use, and after a brief introduce as shown in in the video below, students are on their own!
Currently, students are transferring their stories called “The Houdini Box” onto Zooburst. But prior to letting them create their first multi-page stories, they must first create a one page pop-up card for practice.
I asked students to upload their family photo and write a Chinese New Year greeting card to their parents. They are encouraged to find pictures that relate to Chinese New Year, and arrange them artistically onto the page. Because this was their first time, I gave them plenty of instructions and structure. At the end, they emailed the e-card to their parents who posted comments on their card!
